NAU MAI HAERE MAI - WELCOME

WHO WE ARE…

The Hokianga Community Educational Trust (HCET) is an organisation founded in 2003 for the purpose of supporting and enhancing educational opportunities for the people of Hokianga.

Over the years this has taken many forms, from supporting individuals and groups with advocacy and occasionally funds to running film and book festivals. From the latter has arisen Hokianga Publishers, which now has 9 books in its catalogue.

A fundamental interest is helping activate the local former polytechnic Campus at Rawene, now leased and managed by Te Puna o Kupenuku, a community group set up specifically to enhance community outcomes.

HCET actively supports the new development by employing two people (Akō) to promote Arts and IT on the campus. HCET also provides an umbrella for funds for new and unincorporated groups.
